PANEL DISCUSSION: Starting your journey towards AI in a Law Firm

Join Allan Carton at Inpractice with a group of seasoned legal technology professionals working at the sharp end in practice, recorded on 21 January 2021.

This was a forthright, candid and interactive panel discussion to explore lessons that can be learned from real-life experience of their journeys so far in moving to digital and "AI".  "Augmented Intelligence", rather than "Artificial" in our terminology.  The first challenge has often been finding the data.  Learn what has been done already with data, automation,  machine learning, intelligence, decision tools, use of bots, NLP and more.   Also why ... and where might funding be available for you?

Panellists shared their personal, hard-earned experience of their journey so far in putting this into practice, including:

  • How do you get started using AI and data analytics in your business?
  • How can AI be used to make legal and professional services more efficient?
  • The challenges and opportunities for using AI
  • How to manage cultural change and win hearts and minds
  • What does the future of AI in legal and professional services look like?

The other panellists are:

  • Catriona Wolfenden – Weightmans (Partner & Innovation Manager)
  • Dene Rowe – Keoghs (Partner & Innovation Director)
  • Steven Zdolyny – VP Liverpool Law Society & KIM Technologies (General Counsel)
  • Tom Collingwood – STFC Hartree Centre (Data Scientist)
  • Simeon Clow – STFC Hartree Centre (Business Development Manager)

Hosted by the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC)
