We provide objective, rationally and experienced input to help your through the process of developing a strategy and business plan and to ensure that plans are reaslistic, achievable and likely to be implmented; working both with a practice overall and with departments within a practice.
Key steps to follow include:
-
Client/customer feedback (includes internal clients and introducers) and other market research. There is much to be learned from direct, objective feedback, which over time can be built into plans to develop the skills of partners and others in the practice to improve the client’s perception of the ‘value’ of services being delivered; often overlooked;
-
Objective agreement of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOTs) in the light of the needs of particular target markets and a reliable understanding of what clients see as real value, so you can build strong, competitive services;
-
Helping lawyers understand changes outside the practice that will impact on the business where any business strategy will be impacted upon by Political, Economic, Social and Technology (PEST) developments;
-
Defining a strategy setting out aspirational goals; specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely (SMART) objectives and action plans;
-
Developing options. Brainstorming to develop innovative new solutions and options to address and capitalise on the outcomes of the SWOT and PEST, but in the knowledge that lawyers are not inherently innovatively minded, being trained to be cautious and to apply rules. Non-lawyers have a lot to offer, but only if even their ‘off the wall’ ideas are respected. What do clients value? What new services, could be delivered and how?
-
Communication and debate throughout the practice to get commitment;
-
Defined projects, managed effectively, where lawyers have to play an integral part and need to be willing to be guided and helped at all stages.
We provide a range of services to help you manage this process overall or at each step of the way.
