6 Steps to get the most out of dictation systems
With an eye on a future where profit margins will continue to be squeezed, we identify the 6 steps lawyers should take now to maximise their return on investment in dictation systems.  Most firms can do more.
 
Digital dictation is better than analogue, and will produce benefits if you do nothing more than a straight swap. However, suppliers and an increasing number of digital dictation users have become more innovative, flexible and demanding in how digital dictation systems are used to improve productivity. The technology should just be a stepping stone towards a way of working where lawyers are enabled to do more for themselves, more easily.
 
A chasm is opening up between lawyers who are adapting and those who won’t. Too many are happy to take the easy option with digital dictation, simply reproducing and making it easier for lawyers to work the way they worked before on their old analogue dictation system.
